CUNCOLIM: A woman from Naqueri, Quitol-Quepem was killed on the spot when a mud-laden truck rammed into her house on Sunday night.
According to police, the incident occurred on Sunday night at around 10.30 pm when the driver of the mud-laden truck proceeding from Quitola to Naqueri suddenly lost his control of the vehicle and rammed into the house of Powar family at Naqueri, Quitola Quepem.
The impact was such that Shantabai Powar was killed on the spot while her husband Videsh Powar, who was injured, was shifted to Hospicio Hospital, Margao for treatment.
At the time of the incident the deceased Shantabai and her husband Videsh were sleeping in the veranda.
Their daughter and son in-law were inside the house.
Cuncolim police arrested the truck driver Shrikant Dessai for rash and negligent driving and are investigating the case.
