Police Inspector Siddhant Shirodkar said Arush alias Ayush Kumar and Bahadur Chetri from Nepal were arrested from Porvorim for the human trafficking.
“The accused had rented out a bungalow where the girls pushed into the illicit trade, were kept. After striking a deal with prospective customers, the pimps would escort the girls to the former and bring them back,” he said.
The victims, in their mid-20s and hailing from different parts of North India, were rescued from Vainguinim Valley, where a decoy customer along with the police had laid the trap. They have been sent to the Protective Home while the accused duo, booked under Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act and Indian Penal Code, has been remanded in police custody for four days.
