MARGAO: A 76-year-old woman from Chandor ended her life by jumping into a well at new township, Chandor, on Thursday.
After receiving information, Maina-Curtorim Police visited the spot and with the assistance of Fire Service personnel, fished out the woman’s body from the well and shifted to Public Health Centre, Curtorim, where a medical officer on duty declared her brought dead.

Police said that the deceased woman has been identified and is a resident of Colloso-Guirdolim, Chandor.
Police said that her body has been preserved at the South Goa District Hospital, Margao.
Meanwhile, a 22-year-old youth was found hanging from a tree in an open place at Pazorconi, Cuncolim, on Thursday.
According to Cuncolim Police, the deceased’s family members informed the police about the incident.
Later, the body was removed from the tree and was sent to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim for post mortem examination and a report was collected.
Police said that the youth was missing since January 2. The body has been handed over to family members, said police.
