PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa has reserved the order in the Swedish tourist Felix Dahl’s alleged murder case after concluding hearing arguments on Friday. The order is will likely be pronounced next week but the division bench has not set a date.
Dahl’s mother Minna Pirhonen, represented by advocate Shikha Sethia, had appealed to the court to transfer the case to the CBI claiming the police carried out a shoddy investigation despite evidence pointing at murder.
Goa Police decided not to file a chargesheet stating that they hadn’t found any evidence to prove murder. In 2016, a case of murder was registered after the Judicial Magistrate First Class directed Goa Police to do so.
Government counsel R Rivonkar, during the hearing, objected to the petition arguing that Goa Police have done a thorough job and that based on the medical report and statements of witnesses, the case was ‘accidental drowning.’
