Verna Police Book Cortalim Man Under POCSO for Alleged Sexual Assault and Blackmail of Minor

Verna Police have registered a case against a 24-year-old resident of Cortalim under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Goa Children’s Act, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for the alleged repeated sexual assault, blackmail, and exploitation of a minor.

According to police, the accused allegedly subjected the minor to repeated sexual abuse over a period of more than two years while also blackmailing and exploiting the victim.

Based on the complaint, Verna Police registered an offence under the relevant provisions of the POCSO Act, the Goa Children’s Act, and the BNS. The identity of the accused and the victim has not been disclosed in accordance with legal provisions protecting the privacy of minors.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
