PANJIM: Videos of the complainant verbally abusing Panjim MLA Atanasio (Babush) Monserrate have gone viral on social media with viewers seeking to know the alleged sexual assault in the whole incident which happened on Friday evening outside the Big Daddy casino.
The complainant has accused Monserrate, Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) Mayor Uday Madkaikar and former mayor Yatin Parekh of outraging her modesty, during the drive by the municipal authorities against the encroachments by the casino.
In the video, the complainant is seen obstructing the CCP staff and engaging in a verbal spate with the MLA, the two other accused in her complaint as well as media persons.
While she is heard abusing the MLA with foul language and accusing him of extortion, she is heard intimidating reporters by accusing them of trying to instigate her. She is further heard saying, “In logo sey baath karke zyada kar rahe hai. Un logo ka duty hai. Hum log hamara press khol sakte hai. (By talking to them their doing too much. It is their duty. We can open up our media.)”
Meanwhile, on Saturday the three accussed in the case including Monserrate, Mayor Uday Madkaikar and Yatin Parekh moved the court seeking anticipatory bail in the case.
