Sources said the agency has decided to call the labourers for an inquiry after Vigilance officials questioned a lady panch member of the village Panchayat on Thursday. Sarpanch Sharon Quadros, who had accompanied the lady panch to the office of the Vigilance, has asserted that she was not called by the Vigilance department for interrogations, but had only accompanied the lady panch to the Vigilance office. “So far, I have not received any summons to appear before the Vigilance department in connection with the case,” Sharon said.
Sources in the Vigilance said the agency will take further action in the matter after the workers engaged for the drain cleaning work
are interrogated.
