While speaking to reporters during a traffic jam at the site, former Curtorim Zilla Panchayat (ZP) member Moreno Rebello, questioned why there was no proper care shown by the authorities to the plight of the locals. He

questioned why traffic police or a homeguard or even staff of the contractor was not present at the site to help guide commuters. The digging work brought traffic to a standstill at a bottleneck, with only one lane available for vehicles plying on the stretch.

He demanded that the road works be completed before December 18, the day of the main Curtorim Feast and in light of the festive season.
