Woman arrested for cheating

The Cuncolim police on Friday arrested a woman for allegedly cheating a woman of an amount of Rs 1.53 lakh on the promise of providing a peon job in an educational institution.
The woman was arrested by a police team headed by acting Cuncolim PI Sidhant Shirodkar, after laying a trap inside the house of the victim.
The police said the compalainant Rukmini Desai has alleged that she had paid an amount of Rs 1.53 lakh to the accused on the promise of providing a peon job in the Cuncolim Educational Society’s college. Police said as the promised job was not forthcoming, the complainant intimated the Cuncolim police that the accused would come to her house to collect the balance installment.
The accused has been arrested under section 420 of the IPC. Further investigations are on.
