MARGAO: Lucia Candida Pereira, a resident of Navelim, has complained to the Margao police stating that Anton Mascarenhas, resident of Modiwada, Chandor, induced her son to hand over gold ornaments worth Rs 9.85 lakh to him.
Based on the complaint, the Margao police have registered an offence under sections 379, 506 of IPC against Anton. In her complaint, Pereira has stated that in the month of August 2013 Mascarenhas took advantage of her son Jason Jesus and dishonestly induced him to give gold ornaments belonging to her, her mother and brother Conceicao Pereira. According to police sources, it was after a mobile went missing that Pereira became suspicious and found the gold missing.
