BICHOLIM: Adarsh Sports Club, Pernem and Sattari Sports Club emerged champions in the men’s and women’s categories at the 30th State Kabaddi Championships organized by Sateri Sewa Sang, Kumbharwada-Mayem in association with Poira Sports Club, at Poira ground, here, recently.
In the men’s final, Adarsh SC defeated Sattari Sports club by 23-7 points while in the women’s Sattari SC defeated Adarsh SC, Pernem by 11-8 points.
The third and fourth places in the men’s category went to Pilgao SC and Shiroda Youth Club respectively while in women’s category it was won by Panaji Sports Centre and Poira Youngsters respectively.
Kartik Shetye (Adarsh) was adjudged Best Rider, Nikhil Kadam (Adarsh) Best Defender, and Yeshwant Gawas (Sattari) Best All Rounder while Nehal Sawal Desai (Adarsh) received the Most Promising Player.
In the women’s category, Lalita Halit (Sattari) was adjudged Best Rider, Surekha Omani (Sattari) Best Defender, Karishma Thakur (Adarsh) Best All Rounder while Reshma Beg (Poira Youngsters) was adjudged Most Promising Player.
Prizes were distributed by Speaker Anant Shet in presence of ZP President Ankita Navelkar, Mayem ZP Shankar Chodankar, Mayem Sarpanch Neha Thanekar, Deputy Sarpanch Narendra Tari and Vijay Pole.
