PANJIM: The AIFF Elite Academy grounded Sporting Clube de Goa 2-0, in AIFF’s U-19 I-League, at Cuncolim ground, on Tuesday. The AIFF led 1-0 at the lemon break.
In the 14th minute, AIFF surged ahead after the ball was relayed from the left flank for Kamalpreet Singh, who had quietly made his way to the back post to head the ball into the far corner, 1-0.
After resumption, Robinson Singh, who had earlier rattled the crossbar doubled the Aiff’s lead with an unstoppable volley from outside the box.
Sporting Clube had their chances to come back into the game, but the AIFF custodian managed to smother the danger. The best chance fell to Mauvin Borges but the strikers volley was palmed away to safety by the rival keeper.
