Badminton fraternity mourns the loss of Painguinkar

PANJIM: Anil Painguinkar, age 68, former vice president of the Goa Badminton Association, passed away following a heart attack on Sunday. A badminton player himself and winner of various Veterans doubles titles, Anil was the uncle of the late Rasik Painguinkar, one of Goa’s best-known shuttlers. He was the President of Ponda Shuttlers, a remarkable organizer whose contributions to sports in Goa, particularly in badminton, were vast.

Anil’s legacy will continue to inspire badminton players and organisers,” said Manoj Patil, the Goa Badminton Association president.
