PANJIM: The King’s School will commence its campaign on Tuesday in the Subroto Cup when the team takes on Government Senior Secondary School from Sikkim.
The Sports Director, Christian Roldan, who is also the coach of the team said, “The team was able to arrive in Delhi in plenty of time before the first match to get acclimatised to living together as a team and to start preparing for the matches.”

Christian said that they were even able to have some training sessions, tactical reviews and even watch matches of other teams before they started their first match.
When asked how confident he felt about the first match, he said, “We don’t know the Sikkim team, but we are convinced that they will be a great team, just like all the others. As the competition progresses we will get to know our opponents better. Our aim is to take the window of opportunity to play a lot of game time against great teams and develop as a team.”
Speaking about his expectation from the tournament, Christian said that their goal as a rookie team in this competition and with them having such a young group of players, the motive was to live the experience by performing well and being competitive in every game, with no pressure other than to improve through this great event.
The King’s School will next play against a team from Bangladesh on August 7, and in their final match will play against Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai.
