PANJIM: Cana-Benaulim Sporting Association edged past United Club of Fatorda 2-1 to enter the semi-finals of 13th VM Salgaocar Veterans memorial soccer tournament at St John the Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, Sunday.
Cana-Benaulim were the superior side and their dominance resulted in two quick goals through striker Peter Xavier who made most of a mistake by Fatorda goal-keeper Agnelo Furtado to head home in the 12th minute and seven minutes later striker Mario Coelho doubled the lead with a crisp shot.
Fatorda restored parity through Jaison Cardozo off a pass from Tony Crasto.
