MAPUSA: Youth Sports Club Colvale put up a stiff challenge and went down fighting by a 3-4 margin to Cunchelim Sports Club in the GFA’s Third Division League match, at Quitula ground, here, on Thursday.
At Duler ground, Benny XI got the better of Bastora United by a 5-2 margin.
Jesroy Fernandes and Michael Dias scored a brace each for Benny with Nikesh Margaonkar adding his name to scorers list. Prashil Kankonkar and Sujit Naik managed to score for Bastora.
At Nachinola ground, Assonora United hammered Kelbai SC by a huge 13-0 margin. In the 55th minute of play the match was called off as the team were reduced to only six men.
At Siolim ground, St Anthony’s SC, Marna scored a comfortable 3-0 victory over Tropa SC. Manish Nair, Claudio Rodrigues and Francis Fernandes struck for Marna.
At Candolim ground, Tropy helped Saligao United score a narrow 1-0 win over Sangolda Lightning.
