PANJIM: St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, emerged champions of the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Best Physique (Men) Championships 2025-26, organised by Goa University at Jubilee Hall, Goa University campus, Taleigao. V M Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar, secured the runners-up position, while P G Goa University finished third overall.
The individual honours of ‘Goa University Shree’ 2025–26 were claimed by Guruprasad Ghadi of Dhempe College of Arts & Science, Miramar, following an impressive performance across categories.
The presentation ceremony was graced by chief guest Dr Sandesh Dessai, Librarian, Goa University, along with Balachandra B Jadar, Assistant Director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University, who presented trophies and medals to the winners.
In the up to and including 60 kg category, Ashwet Pilankar of Goa College of Engineering won the gold medal, while Saiesh Chopdekar of S S Dempo College, Cujira, secured silver and Prathamesh Gaonkar of Shree Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering and Information Technology, Shiroda, took bronze.
The up to and including 65 kg category saw Guruprasad Ghadi of Dhempe College of Arts & Science, Miramar, clinch gold, Sameer Saingh of MES College, Zuarinagar, win silver, and Brendon Sawant of St Xavier’s College claim bronze.
In the up to and including 70 kg division, St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, dominated as Anurag Parab won gold and Shalil Arolkar secured silver, while Adil Bepari of S S Dempo College, Cujira, finished with bronze.
The up to and including 75 kg category was topped by Mrunal Desai of P C C E College, Verna, who won gold. Harshad Dhami of S S Dempo College, Cujira, took silver, while Rohit Gop of P G Goa University claimed bronze.
In the up to and including 85 kg section, Sanjeev Revodkar of P G Goa University secured the gold medal. Vanshvardhan Mandrekar of V M Salgaocar College of Law won silver, while Malcom Antao of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, finished with bronze.
In the above 85 kg category, Marc Souza of V M Salgaocar College of Law claimed gold, Britt Vales of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, secured silver, and Rudraksha Kole of D M’s College, Assagao, won bronze.
