RAIA: USC Seraulim booked a quarterfinal berth after defeating Raia Sporting Club, 4-3, via the tie-breaker in the 2nd edition of the Vauradeancho Ixtt Trophy, organised by Margao SC in association with United Club of Batora, at the DSYA ground, Curtorim, on Wednesday.
Raia SC took the lead through Danny Fernandes, while Melroy Pacheco found the net for USC Seraulim. With the match ending level, USC Seraulim proved the better shooters in the tie-breaker.
Maria Rebello, the only Goan to serve as a FIFA referee assessor at the recent FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup, was the chief guest and presented the man-of-the-match award to Danny Fernandes of Raia Sporting Club.
