RAIA: The annual Vocation Sunday football match of the Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol was held at the Parish of Mae dos Pobres Church, Tilamol, premises beginning with a prayer service and the opening ceremony lead by the chief guest Fr Rosario Oliveira.
The first match was played between Tilamol Altar Servers boys and Macazana Altar Servers boys, with Macazana Altar Servers boys emerging victorious. This was followed by a tie-breaker match between Tilamol Altar Servers girls and Quepem Alter Servers girls, wherein the Tilamol Parish Altar Servers girls secured the win.
The second tie-breaker featured Tilamol Parish Youth girls and the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, in which the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth claimed the victory. One of the most dynamic and thrilling matches of the evening was between the Tilamol Parish Youth boys and the Rachol Seminary Brothers. After an intense game, the Rachol Seminary Brothers triumphed by a margin of 2-1.
The evening was graced by the presence of a numerous priests and nuns. Not forgetting the appearance of Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa along with Leader of Opposition and Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao.
The tournament concluded leaving the participants and spectators with moments of excitement, sportsmanship and unity. At the closing ceremony, special prizes were awarded to outstanding players, player of the Match – Fluino Carvalho (Rachol Seminary), best defender – Jason Colaco (Rachol Seminary), best scorer – Majoice Goes (Tilamol Parish Youth) and best goalkeeper – Luis Rodriguez (Rachol Seminary).
