In a stern response to the recent incident at Camurlim Primary School, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that the teacher responsible for brutally beating a class IV student will be suspended and may face arrest if deemed necessary by law enforcement.
The incident, which has sparked outrage across the state, involved a 9-year-old boy who was severely beaten with a steel ruler by his teacher, leaving him bruised and bleeding after two pages were torn from his book.
CM emphasized that
such acts of violence in schools are on the rise and will not be tolerated. “We will take strict action against those who abuse their position as educators,” Sawant stated. He also mentioned that the Colvale Police have already registered a case against the teacher, who appeared at the police station on Wednesday for questioning. Despite being confronted by the media, the teacher refused to answer any questions.
