MARGAO: The Chinchinim Deussua and Sarzora village panchayats on Sunday undertook cleanliness drives in their respective villages with the villagers wholeheartedly joining in the cleanliness drive that made the roads in the two villages look clean without any plastic strewn around.
In Sarzora the villagers led by the panchayat members cleaned all the roads in the village ward wise and collected 14 jumbo bags of dry garbage that was thrown by the road side.
At Chinchinim the villagers were supported by Nusi Maritime Academy as 40 of their students joined the villagers in the cleanliness drive. Altogether around 150 volunteers cleaned up Chinchinim.
village and the drive had to be stopped mid way as the plastic bags in which the collected waste was gathered, got over.
After suspending the drive for some time, more bags were arranged and finally in Chinchinim around 150 jumbo bags of dry waste were collected.
