Local Rajesh Dabholker raised the issue of illegal structures that were built on a CRZ area in Kekdevli (survey no 96/25) and demolished by the Mamlatdar in July. He sought to know when the panchayat had issued the house number to the owner, who the sarpanch was at that time, and in which meeting the panchayat had resolved to grant the house number. He added, “Since the structure was coming up in a CRZ area, a huge amount must have been paid for a house number.”
Sarpanch Kedar Naik requested Dabholker to visit the panchayat office, where he would be given the required information.
Residents of ward no 7 mentioned that the residents of Hindustan Colony were dumping garbage beside a well from which the locals used to drink. They demanded that the panchayat clear the garbage immediately and display a notice board stating that garbage should not be dumped there.
Naik assured to fulfill their requests and informed that the panchayat will soon get a vehicle for collecting garbage.
Local Atmaram Dabholker informed that the ‘Swastik’ casino vessel anchored at Betim ferry wharf was causing traffic congestions. In the evening, buses and taxis dropped tourists at Betim, due to which traffic jams and fatal accidents occurred. He demanded that the panchayat take steps to shift the casino immediately.
Naik stated that the panchayat had already taken up the issue with Captain of Ports, which assured that the vessel would be shifted to Panjim once the new jetty was ready.
The issues of stray dogs and non-functioning street lights were also discussed at the meeting in Pundalik Devastan, Betim.
