PANJIM: Following directives from the High Court, GSPCB has called for a hearing of Anjuna-Caisua VP, Directorate of Panchayats and the petitioner to work out ad hoc measures to ensure that the panchayat carries out collection, segregation and disposal of garbage scientifically.
The High Court, in an order last week observed that the directions issued by the Court on August 13, 2015 for disposing of garbage of Anjuna are not being complied with, and hence directed GSPCB to look into the matter.
GSPCB chairman Jose Manuel Noronha said the hearing will be held on December 4, wherein the village panchayat would be asked about the steps initiated to collect, treat and dispose of the garbage.
“We would also issue them a series of directions on collection and treatment of dry and wet waste,” he said.
