The monsoon has been fluctuating since last week as the end of the cyclonic period of the Southwest Monsoon, which saw some stormy showers lash the State, ended. The persistent rainfall has also slowed down. Quepem received the highest rainfall on Wednesday recording 74 mm of rain, followed by Mapusa, which received 70.4 mm of rain.
The rain showers on Wednesday flooded the road and drains creating traffic chaos in Panjim. The Fire and Emergency Department received seven calls reporting minor incidents.
The warning to local fishermen not to go out in sea has been lifted.
