PONDA: The Ponda Saraswat Samaj held a convention of Saraswat families at Khandepar, Ponda, recently.
The speakers highlighted the achievements of Saraswats in Goa and expressed concern over the rising cases of divorce and their children settling abroad.
Retired judge Avinash Lawande, who inaugurated the convention, appealed to all members of the Saraswat Samaj to come together and work for the betterment of their community. Adv Shubhalaxmi Nayak said that marriage is a responsibility and everyone should know how to keep the relationship alive and strengthen it. Goa Saraswat Samaj president Rajendra Kakodkar, Pandarinath Bodake, Sanjay Priolkar, and educationist Madhav Kamat were present for the convention.
