PANJIM: Goa’s total revenue for the nine month period from April to December 2024 saw an increase of Rs 365.43 crore as compared to the same period in 2023.

This was informed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday.
“For the period of April to December 2024, Goa’s total revenue reached Rs 4,614.77 crore, which was Rs 365.43 crore more than the Rs 4,249.34 crore earned during the same period in 2023. This substantial increase encompasses both GST and VAT revenues, showcasing the State’s improved economic performance, he added.
Sawant also stated that Goa has witnessed remarkable growth in its revenue collection for December 2024, with a surge of Rs 75.51 crore compared to the same month in 2023. This year’s numbers reflect a strong upward trend, signalling positive economic momentum, he said.
For the period from April to December 2024, Goa’s GST revenue saw a boost of 9.62 per cent for the nine months, reflecting the effectiveness of tax reforms and economic activities, Sawant added. VAT revenue also recorded a growth of 6.41 per cent, contributing positively to the overall earnings, Sawant said further.
“The overall revenue growth, combining both GST and VAT stands at an impressive 8.60 per cent,” he informed.
These figures highlight Goa’s continuous economic growth and fiscal health, making December 2024 a significant milestone for the State. The backbone of Goa’s economy, the tourism sector, has also played a significant role in driving this growth, with a record number of tourist arrivals, the Chief Minister said.
