MARGAO: Citizens and recently-elected panch members have demanded that the State government urgently prioritise the repairs of the South Goa District Collectorate building.
While panchas and sarpanchas who have been visiting the Collectorate building have called for an improvement in how the premises have been maintained, they have also suggested that the building be painted again as the present conditions are not welcoming to the public.

Citizens and staff of government departments have demanded that the toilets be repaired and added that the stench is unbearable. Senior citizens have also complained about the lack of seating arrangements for them at the building that houses various government departments’ offices.
They also questioned what happened to the promises that were given by PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral on August 15, Independence Day, about immediately starting repair works on the building. Cabral had also given similar assurances to legislators who had raised this issue in the monsoon session of the Goa Legislative Assembly.
