PERNEM: A demolition squad that went to Casarwane, with police protection, on Tuesday, returned without pulling down any sheds after members of Shri Bodgeshwar Xetkari Sangh and Goa Kul Mundkar Association asked the squad members for demolition notices.
It was later learnt that none of the owners received any notice of demolition. So the demolition squad inspected the area and returned without damaging any shed. President of Shri Bodgeshwar Xetkari Committee Sanjay Barde, said that the squad officers failed to answer any of their queries.
Casarwane Panch Bhivanand Mandrekar, said, “An earlier inspection was carried out by the authorities and a letter was sent to the panchayat secretary informing about the demolition, but said that the letter is confidential. The letter claimed that structures are illegal and demolition is scheduled for November 3.”
