PANJIM: The Anjuna police have booked the Manager of Glory Club at Vagator for playing loud music beyond the permissible time and decibel limits.
After Herald highlighted that this club at Vagator was found violating the orders of High Court of Bombay at Goa on noise pollution, action was taken by Anjuna police under the supervision of North Goa Superintendent of Police.

On February 9, the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) received a complaint that Glory Club at Vagator was found playing music at 87 to 90 decibels, which is 35 decibels above limit, set under the relevant environment protection law. The club audaciously continued to play loud music till morning with absolutely no fear of police and authorities.
After inspection, confirming the noise pollution, the GSPCB filed a police complaint against Glory Club stating that the club played music beyond the permissible time causing nuisance to public. The police have booked the Manager of the club under Section 15 of Environment Protection Act, rule No. 57 of Contravention of Noise Pollution (Regulation & Control) Rule 2000.
The complainant in the matter however said that the clubs have no fear of law enforcement and that music was being played even as the FIR was being lodged against one of the clubs at Vagator.
