Divine Mercy feast celebrated in Margao

MARGAO: The feast of Divine Mercy was celebrated at Carmelite Church, Margao, on Sunday. A large number of priests and faithful attended the same.

Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao was the main celebrant for the high mass. In his homily, he called upon the people to be merciful and helpful to others, to follow Jesus’ teachings, to forgive and live with the concerns of others, and to lead a life of prayer.
The Carmelite Monastery is known for Divine Mercy by way of corporal works of mercy and spiritual works, such as counselling and confession. Thousands flocked for confession all through lent.
Incidentally, this is the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy, as declared by Pope Francis, and the Archbishop has declared the Carmelite Church as the location to celebrate this event.
