PONDA: Marcaim MLA Ramkrishan ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar on Monday urged the State government to provide financial relief to motorcycle pilot, rickshaw owners, taxi operators, street, flower and fruit vendors, who are jobless after imposing lockdown and curfew in the State.

He said, “Hundreds of people have lost livelihood and are struggling to survive for basic needs. A minimum of Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000 should be provided to them to feed their families.”
He said, “The government should provide relief to two lakh families in the State by providing monthly ration quota free of cost.”
He also urged the government to speed up the vaccination drive.
“When city like Mumbai with huge population have brought the daily COVID cases to 2,600 why can’t Goa with meagre population follow the suit,” he questioned.
