According to the police, Rimi and Somanna were in a relationship for quite some time, but had constant quarrels. Somanna popularly known as Melvin in the area was a dish washer and had a quarrel with Rimi, on the night he was murdered.
The police got a call from the bar owner where Somanna worked stating that Somanna was found dead at the hut. The police initially registered an offence against unknown persons and later, upon inquiry, found that he was staying with Rimi Chauhan. When interrogated by police, Rimi admitted that she committed the murder.
Sources say the woman is separated from her husband and Somanna from his wife; they both have two children each.
The police have registered an offence against the accused woman under Section 302 of IPC.
