Goa Transport Dept Suspends Ola Electric Trade Certificate, Halts All New Scooter Sales

Amid mounting complaints from Ola elec tric scooter owners over prolonged repair delays and lack of service support, the Department of Trans port has suspended the company’s trade certificate, effectively halting all new vehicle sales in the State. The Department has also blocked all Ola Electric reg istration on the Vahan reg istration portal, preventing any further registrations. Officials indicated that the step was necessary to safeguard future buyers in light of the ongoing crisis, which has forced many existing customers to keep their vehicles off-road for months. The RTO noted that representatives from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) have also engaged with Ola, after EV bike owners escalated the matter. Officials said that while temporary service teams were deployed by Ola following the CMO intervention, the relief was short-lived, and backlogs returned. “The situation remains unsatisfactory.
