MGP Gets Three Seats; BJP to Back Independents in Select Areas, Says CM

Chief Minister has confirmed that three seats have been officially allotted to the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) as part of the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections. The announcement comes amid active discussions between political allies as parties finalise their strategies for the polls.

The Chief Minister further revealed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will extend its support to independent candidates in select constituencies where such alignments are expected to strengthen the coalition’s overall prospects. This decision, he said, was taken after assessing the ground-level dynamics and the feasibility of ensuring maximum representation through strategic alliances.

He added that the remaining list of BJP-backed and alliance candidates for other ZP seats will be announced tomorrow, once the final round of internal consultations is completed. The CM expressed confidence that the combined efforts of the BJP, MGP, and supported independents will yield strong results in the upcoming elections.
