No Giant Wheel at Vasco Damodar Saptah Fair, Collector Orders Strict Safety Measures

The giant wheel will not be permitted at this year’s Damodar Saptah fair in Vasco, with South Goa Collector Egna Cleetus directing organisers and authorities to strictly adhere to safety and disaster-management protocols.

During a review of preparations, Cleetus said a proposal to install the giant wheel on government land had been rejected and clarified that no permission had been granted for the attraction at the fair.

Authorities have been directed to maintain separate entry and exit points, keep emergency routes clear, regulate crowds during peak hours and ensure adequate arrangements for protection against rain.

Fire safety, structural stability and mandatory certifications for temporary stalls will also be checked as part of the preparations. Food arrangements at the fair will be monitored by teams from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
