9 illegal kiosks razed at Valpoi

The Sattari Taluka Farmers Society (STFS) has demolished nine illegal kiosks from its premises near Valpoi Bridge on Thursday.
It may be recalled that the gaddas were erected in 2004 and the STFS had filed a case against Valpoi Municipal Council (VMC) for permitting the kiosks in the society’s premises.
The matter was taken up in the court and the court recently decided in favour of STFS, directing the PWD to remove all nine illegal kiosks from the society premises.
The PWD (building section) team led by Assistant Engineer Arvind Kalmate supervised the demolition operation, which started at 12 noon and continued till late night. Valpoi police force was also present at the site.
