PANJIM: Condemning the recent controversial event at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in support of Afzal Guru, Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Goa, has decided to hold a protest rally in Panjim on Wednesday.
The organization on Tuesday, alleged that the university’s vice-chancellor was requested not to grant permission to the student’s union to host the event that was meant to mark the death of the terrorist, despite which the anti-national activity was held.
“The ABVP in Delhi had requested the VC to avoid giving permission for such an anti-national activity. But the students on campus fearlessly shouted anti-India slogans and observed the death,” member of ABVP, Konkan Regional Amogh Arlekar said.
This, he said, is the reason the organization decided to organise a protest rally to condemn the JNU move while also creating awareness on the issue. ABVP has warned it will file complaints against anyone questioning the country’s unity and integrity.
