PANJIM: Demanding the appointment of new leader, as Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is unable to discharge his duties due to his health condition, activist Rajan Ghate commenced an indefinite hunger strike at Panjim’s Azad Maidan on Friday.
Speaking to media persons Ghate said the government has been non-functional for the last eight months. “CM is unwell for last eight months and the administration has come to a standstill,” he said. Ghate said that the CM must hand over responsibilities to someone else and not allow the administration to collapse. “Why is BJP pressurising the CM? He needs rest and State needs new CM,” he stated.
NGOs from across Goa extended their support to Ghate’s agitation.
