PANJIM: The government has directed all departments to recruit personnel once a year and to ensure that the process is completed within six months.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said, “All requirements of the year will have to be evaluated together keeping in mind the prospective posts that would be created during the year on the basis of promotion or retirement and new job creation. You select them in one lot through one advertisement.”
He said the process for this year will commence from December and from the following years the process would begin in January.
“Within the first three months the department will have to identify the vacancies available and vacancies likely to be created up to December of that year. All vacancies will have to be advertised in one advertisement only. Recruitment will be closed within six months for that year,” he added.
Clearing the air on the issue of scrapping the posts advertised in 2016 and subsequently recruitment process being suspended by the previous government, Parrikar said, “On 22nd November all those applications that have cleared the process, where either the results have been displayed or appointment letters issued, such recruitment process should be continued and closed.”
He said that 600 posts out of 1000 have been cleared and the remaining posts which were at very initial stage, a decision will be taken. He said “It is not correct to keep the aspirants waiting for two-three years. I have asked to speed up the recruitment mechanism whereby instead of moving on the file, the concerned officials will meet and clear the files.”
He said that after the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, salary payment of the government has crossed Rs 220 crore and the pension liabilities have crossed Rs 60 crore.
The chief minister said that a lot of posts have become redundant as the government has outsourced specific works.
, Parrikar said, “According to me around 4500 – 5000 requirement of posts over the year will be there. Since there has been no recruitment this year and then keeping in mind the requirements of next year, we will have around 5000 posts within next one year.”
