Bicholim, Goa: ’18 June Revolution Day’ was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Bicholim on Thursday, with tributes paid to the martyrs of the Goa Liberation Struggle at the Martyrs’ Memorial near Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Government Primary School.
Bicholim MLA Dr. Chandrakant Shetye led the commemorative event by paying homage to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for Goa’s liberation. A floral wreath was laid at the memorial as a mark of respect for their courage and dedication.
The ceremony witnessed the participation of dignitaries, local residents, and a large number of students, who gathered to honour the legacy of the martyrs and remember their invaluable contribution to Goa’s freedom movement.
Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of organising such commemorative programmes to educate and inspire the younger generation about the sacrifices made by the revolutionaries of the Goa Liberation Struggle and to preserve the state’s rich historical legacy.
