Residents led by Ward Panch Santosh Dessai and Panch Girish Pillai staged a protest near MES Junction over the delay in the ongoing MVR road project, warning of a public agitation if the work is not completed at the earliest.
Addressing the gathering, Santosh Dessai attributed the slow pace of the project to the pending pipeline-shifting works by Adani Gas and ZIOTL. He expressed concern that the approaching monsoon could further hamper construction activities, causing greater inconvenience to commuters and local residents.

Dessai urged the concerned agencies to expedite the pending works and cautioned that people would be compelled to take to the streets if the project continued to face delays.
Panch Girish Pillai echoed similar concerns, stating that traffic congestion in the area is expected to worsen significantly once educational institutions reopen, adding to the hardships faced by daily commuters.
Meanwhile, MVR Project Director Mihir Kumar alleged that Adani Gas and ZIOTL have failed to cooperate with the project despite repeated notices issued by the National Highways authorities over the past six months. He said the lack of coordination has adversely affected the timely execution of the road project.
Residents have called on the authorities and the utility agencies to resolve the pending issues without further delay to ensure the early completion of the project and ease traffic movement in the area.
