Bicholim woman suicide: family suspects murder

The family of a 30-year-old woman from Kudchirem-Bicholim, who had committed suicide by setting herself ablaze on Sunday, has suspected that she may have been murdered.
In her police complaint, Nikita’s sister Supriya Vishnu Salelkar from Morlem-Sattari has stated that Naresh might have strangulated her sister, before setting her ablaze.
The complaint also gives a detailed account of the harassment meted to her sister, who was pregnant.
Speaking to Herald, Bicholim PI Harish Madkaikar said Salelkar has alleged murder and they are collecting evidence in the case.
“We have asked for post mortem report and Deputy Collector Narayan Gaad is the investigating officer in the case, as Nikita committed suicide just four years after her marriage,” said PI Madkaikar.
