Bill to amend housing laws

MARGAO: Co-operation Minister Deepak Dhavlikar has said the government would bring an Amendment Bill in the next session of the Goa Legislative Assembly to solve the issues and problems plaguing the housing societies.

Deepak made this disclosure after inaugurating the 33rd branch of the VPK Urban Cooperative Credit Society at the Virgincar bhavan, Comba-Margao.
The Cooperation Minister said the government has brought about an Amendment to the Act in the just concluded session to provide autonomy to the societies and giving representation to women and members of the STs on the societies. “I am confident that the Amendment will further strengthen and give a big fillip to the cooperation section in the state”, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Margao MLA Digambar Kamat complimented VPK Urban Cooperative Credit society for opening a branch in Margao from a small humble beginning. “The society has succeeded having won the trust and confidence of the people of Goa”, he added.
