The CM said that work on the kabrastan to be carried out by the PWD will be tendered around November, while the TCP Board will take a call on the permission sought by Fomento Green for hill cutting for the land fill site on October 24.
“We have decided that only a road, besides benching and other bare minimum religious facilities will be built at the kabrastan in phase I. Work on the project will be carried out by the PWD after tendering in November”, he added.
Meanwhile, Parrikar told the media that he has suggested to Fomento Green to engage 10 labourers to carry out segregation of waste coming at the treatment plant. “There’s foul odour emanating in the plant for want of segregation”, he said, while saying that Fomento Green need not go for huge hill cutting for the proposed land fill site. “We have inspected the site today and a report from the TCP officials will be discussed at the Board meeting on October 24. I feel that the company need not go for massive hill cutting at the site”, he added.
Parrikar also announced that he would visit Margao once a month to address the grievances of the people.
