MARGAO: A delegation of Aquem citizens called on the Margao Municipal Council Chairperson Arthur D’Silva seeking details and documents of the housing projects on the Costa Ground.
The delegation impressed upon the chairperson that the Costa ground has been used by all sections of people for recreation and cultural activities over the years.
“We have asked the MMC chairperson to give us information and details relating to the ground. We are weighing various options including taking legal recourse in support of our demand,” informed BJP leader Naveen Raikar after the meeting with the chairperson.
During discussions, the delegation sought support and cooperation from the municipal chairperson as per the wishes and sentiments of the people of Aquem. Arthur is believed to have told them that the Council has taken the decision to renew the construction licence as per the opinion from the legal counsel as the SGPDA and the civic body had approved the construction licence for the housing project.
