BICHOLIM: A 30-year-old scooter rider from Amona died on the spot while the pillion rider was seriously injured in a collision with a jeep at Navelim-Sanquelim on Saturday.
According to available information, the incident occurred at about 10 am when the scooter rider, Sandesh Amonkar, was returning home from Sanquelim.
While on a slope at Navelim, the scooter collided with an oncoming jeep and the mishap was such that Sandesh died on the spot, while the pillion rider, Dattaguru Phadte (40), was reported to be in a critical state. Phadte was immediately moved to the Sanquelim CHC and later rushed to GMC Bambolim, where his condition is serious.
