MARGAO: Fake policemen have once again raised their ugly heads in Margao.

A resident of Vidyanagar-Aquem, Ramnath Jaiwant Sukerkar, became their latest victim when he was relieved of his gold ornaments worth Rs 24,000 near Old Chowgule College.

In his complaint, Sukerkar stated that two unknown accused persons aged about 60 and 40 yrs approached him and acted as policemen and committed theft of one gold chain and one finger ring totally worth Rs 24,000. The duo is believed to have approached him at around 12.30 noon.

Margao police have registered an offence under section 170, 379 read with 34 of IPC against the two unknown accused and ASI K R Kotarkar is investigating.
