First H1N1 case in Vasco

VASCO, AUG 9 Vasco has recorded its first H1N1 positive case at Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) Hospital on Monday. The Central Industrial Security Force (CIFS) official from the Port has been tested positive of H1N1 virus by the State health authority.

Vasco has recorded its first H1N1 positive case at Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) Hospital on Monday.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CIFS) official from the Port has been tested positive of H1N1 virus by the State health authority.
However, the doctors at the Port hospital suspect that since the security personnel had recently visited his native place in Pune, he could have infected with the dreaded virus in Pune.
“About five days ago, the security personnel reported uneasiness and he was admitted in MPT Hospital on his arrival,” said Dr D P Kudalkar.
Dr Kudalkar said the patient reported ailment of uneasiness and the doctors immediately sent his throat swab sample for testing at the GMC Hospital, which was tested positive.
He further said the patient has been quarantined in an isolated ward of the hospital and that he was recovering.
