First prize for ‘Good for Nothing’

MARGAO: ‘Good For Nothing’ a tiatr written and directed by Michael Gracias won the first prize at the 7th Children’s Tiatr Competition organized by Tiatr Academy of Goa and supported by Herald Publications.
Tiatr ‘Ek Aslo Surya’ by Fulte Machi Mogi, Raia and tiatr ‘Baulem’ by Our Lady of Rosary School, Dona Paula bagged the second and third prizes respectively.
The other prizes are as follows: Best direction: Michael Gracias (first prize), Marcos Gonsalves (second pize), Antonet de Sousa (third prize).
Best acting: (Male): Larsen Gracias (first prize), Franjoe Pinto (second prize). (Female): Decima D’Costa (first prize), Lee Sania Estibeiro (second prize); best Comedian (Male): Andrade Franco, (Female) Anelly Lobo; best singing: (Male) Shawn Sequeira (first prize), Hansel Pereira (second prize); best Solo: (Female) Shanaya Pereira (first prize), Shania Silveira (second prize); best Duet: Alisha Pereira and Joyrus Mascarenhas; dest Duo: Easha Govekar and Amisha Govekar; best Trio: Liezel Coutinho, Reuben Kakde, Reeve Fernandes; best quartet: Joseph Coutinho, Anjoe Oliviera, Alisha Pereira and Mayola Colaco; best choral: Megan Vas and Drisha Coelho; best Lyrics: Fr Santana D’Souza (first prize), P Agnelo Fernandes (second prize); best Script: Michael Gracias (first prize), Marcos Gonsalves (second prize).
There were nine troupes which participated in the competition. The prizes were distributed at the hands of the chief guest, Premanand Lotlikar and guest of honour, Josephine Dias. The event was compered by Sharon Mazarello.
