GCZMA inspects unauthorised construction at Mapusa

MAPUSA: The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) conducted a site inspection of an alleged unauthorised construction carried out in CRZ II, at Camarkhazan, Mapusa.

The site inspection was carried out after the General Secretary of Tenants Association of Camarcasanacho Budh, Camarkhazan John Lobo filed a complained about the illegality.

Lobo stated that the permanent unauthorised structure was being operated as a bar and restaurant and had no construction licence and added that Survey No 3/9 of PT Sheet No106 of Town Survey of Mapusa is a paddy field and a khazan land which falls within the prescribed CRZ-II area.

“No constructions are permissible in the CRZ-Il area and the concerned owner has not obtained any permissions to convert the khazan land and to construct a permanent structure by filling land,” said Lobo.

The inspection team comprised Bhargavi Kelkar, Engineer and Siddhi Morajkar, Field Surveyor of Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority.
